Donations of non-clothing items will be accepted; except this year we will be accepting purses and shoes. Volunteers (male and female) are needed for: Friday, sorting and setting up; Saturday, friendly sales people and clean-up.
Please call Mike and Sharon Wadle, 815-756-6518, if you need transport for your donations.
Annual Senior Luncheon
Sunday, April 12 at 11:30, the Mission Endowment Team is sponsoring its annual luncheon for seniors. There will be a financial update and entertainment and it’s FREE!! This is for all members of First Lutheran Church who may be interested in the activities of the Endowment Fund and how the committee is governed in their activities. Reservations will be required so we can have an accurate count for the meal. We think the Third Annual Endowment Luncheon for our “experienced members” will be the best yet. Hope to see you there!!
Beloved Community Dinner
Over the past several months interested people have been gathering for potluck dinners, the goal of which is to cultivate a climate where folks from different races and walks of life will seek to understand and to be understood by one another. First Lutheran hosted the last dinner on Sunday, February 22.
The next Beloved Community Dinner will be held at Neumann Center on Sunday, April 19, at 5:00 PM. The evening will include a panel discussion by community leaders regarding race relations in DeKalb. Please plan to join the gathering and bring a dish to pass if you are able!
