There are some remarkable parallels between gardening and ministry. Gardeners spend alot of time preparing flower and vegetable gardens for planting and, when the time is right, they plant. It's hard work, but the results are worth it. But even with all the hard work, gardeners really have little control over the results...that's up to God! Oh sure, all summer they weed, cultivate and water...doing what they can to help things along...but the growth comes from God!

At First Lutheran, we (all of us, not just the pastors and staff) work hard to prepare people's hearts and minds to be 'good soil' and then plant seeds of faith. We take care to 'weed, cultivate and water' in order to help things along by creating a favorable environment for faith to grow. But the actual growing in faith comes from God, through the work of the Holy Spirit!

So come on! Grow your faith, and help other people grow theirs, by getting connected through the many opportunities available at First Lutheran!

	Worship Sunday Worship - 9:00 am
	WOW! Worship on Wednesdays We gather outdoors for prayer, song and conversation at 6:30 PM on Wednesdays, June 9 & 23, July 14 & 28 and August 11. Look for us out by the campfire.
	Cross Walk at First Lutheran Christian education comes in many forms here at First Lutheran. Children from age 3-6th grade can experience the hands-on rotational curriculum of Cross Walk Sunday or the food and fellowship of Cross Walk Wednesday. Seventh and eighth graders can join Club 7~8 on Sundays and jouney through Faith Trek Confirmation on Wednesdays. High school youth are invited to Youth Group on Sundays and Meal and a Message on Wednesdays. There's something for everyone at Cross Walk @ First Lutheran.
	Cross Walk Sunday @ First Lutheran Sunday School programming for age 3 - 6th grade. Cross Walk Sunday (CWS) begins after worship, lasting from 10:20 until 11:20. CWS is organized by rotations, each rotation lasting 3 weeks and focusing on a particular Bible story. Students experience one of 9 different workshops each week: Peter's Theater (puppets), Peter's Theater (drama), Living Word (literature), Scripture Cinema (film), Good News Station WWJD (TV), Salvation Stadium (games), Cookin' with Jesus, Apostle's Art Studio, and Cornerstone Computer Lab. Children age 3 - Kindergarten visit a workshop for 20 minutes, attend music, and have homeroom each week. Children in grades 1 - 6 visit a workshop for 40 minites and attend music each week. Annual special events involving our CWS students include: Rally Day to kick off the year (September) Christmas Program (December) Mother's Day Program (May)
	Cross Walk - Wednesday - at First Lutheran Cross Walk - Wednesday - Faith Formation is a fun time of food, fellowship, and music for the whole family to enjoy together. Join us from 5:30-7:30 on Wednesday evenings for this family event.

	Music Ministries Our mission is to: Glorify God through the gift of music; Provide worship experiences in which people sense the presence of God; Foster spiritual growth and help kindle the desire to know God more intimately; Provide outreach to the community. In our ministry, we strive to: Invite, include and involve children and adults of all ages in active worship participation; Use a variety of liturgies, instruments and styles of music in worship; Make a connection between scripture readings, the theme of the day, and words of the hymns we sing; Provide the opportunity for children and adults to learn and grow through participation in Adult Choir, Handbell Choir, Sunday School music time, and Prime Time Music Time; Invite the community into our midst by offering special music events.
