First Lutheran DeKalb has a rich and growing array of social,
spiritual, and educational programming for children and their families. Currently
these include Sunday School, the Prime
Time Wednesdays programs, and Vacation
Bible School. Volunteers and visitors are always welcome. Contact Mary
Jean Bauling for information or to offer assistance with these programs.
Sunday School
First Lutheran DeKalb offers a full array of highly creative Sunday School
programing for children up through grade 6. For more information, see the
Sunday School page. Sunday morning programs
are also being planned for junior high, senior high, and college age youth.
Junior high youth and above are also invited to attend the Adult
Forum series.
Many parents of children attending Sunday School will also be
interested in the Prime Time Wednesdays program
(see below) and the Mothers Of Pre-Schoolers
(MOPS) program (click here for description).
Prime Time Wednesdays
Prime Time Wednesdays is a unique mix of activities
for children, youth, and adults that runs every Wednesday night from 5:30
to 7:30 p.m. We begin with a group supper at 5:30. Activities begin at 6PM.
We currently have activities for children ages 4 through 6th grade, with confirmation
for grades 7 and 8. For more information, see our
page on Prime Time Wednesdays.
Vacation Bible School
First Lutheran DeKalb runs a Vacation Bible
School every summer. Each year's offering is organized around a different
theme. For more information, or to offer assistance, please contact Mary
Jean Bauling.
