Prayer Network

In December 2004, First Lutheran Church established a "Prayer, Praise, and Thanksgiving" network to join in prayer for requests submitted by our church community. There are at least four ways you can participate:

  • Join our e-mail prayer network. Prayer requests will be forwarded to you weekly and as needed.
  • Join our telephone prayer chains. You will receive the requests by telephone and be asked to forward them to the next person on the chain.
  • Prayer partners. Whether you are on the e-mail network on the telephone chains, we may be able to link you with a partner to pray together in person, by telephone, or e-mail chat - whatever is your preference.
  • Submit a prayer request or thanksgiving report of your own

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) now has a website devoted specifically to promoting individual and congregational prayer. It includes a meditative space, links to devotional resources, and links to a rich array of prayer resources, including a brief piece on the subject by Martin Luther himself.
